The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them." ~ George Orwell ~ the really scary thing is not how so few know, but how few want to know... and how many want to not know... just go about yur bsiness now people... it's ok, the NASDAQ will rebound from it's three year plummet... the government will manipulate the statistics so you and the world will never know just how the average worker is being shafted and how big business is doing better than ever... and don't worry about the defense industry, at least 50% of every dollar you pay in taxes (and then some) is going to keep the bombs and bullet makers and new age merchants of death afloat... Uncle Sam doesn't need you anymore, but your hard work and taxes are appreciated even if we don't thank you much... if you find yourself under any undue stress and want relief, please continue using the legal and illegal poisons we've allowed to be manufactured in and imported into the country, and don't forget to keep up with your religion, that'll keep you in line if you feel you are inadvertently falling out of step with the rest of our proud nation... you're free to practice any religion you choose here you know... that's one of the rights your sons have and will die for anytime our nation is threatened or needs to take something from some other country to keep the engines of our great empire thriving... and about the free speech thing, you still have it, but we hope you will refrain from using it to criticize your leaders or the current policies because that weakens us in the eyes of the world we seek to dominate and if you bring too much attention to yourself we might have to question your loyalty and status as a citizen, but we'd only do that if you undermine the great nation in which you are blessed to enjoy your blood-earned freedoms... [insert flag here] somehow, I think I wouldn't make it as a speechwriter for big brother... but then, I doubt I'd want to convince anyone to follow blinding into anything... it's not that I am opposed to the principles of this United States of America empire... I just think we've taken the oligarchy a bit too far and too many meglomaniacs are in charge of what this country stands for, which is not freedom as much as success which is measured in money and power, and how our dollars are spent... but then, I don't feel allied to any organization humans have created... though WHY has my support just cuz Harry co-founded it and Jen, who I adored, Tomand others I've met and respect still support it... webbot is where I go when the political thoughts want to come out and he's been bored with the whole thing since the 2000 election games... I did my time in the army and would much rather find peaceful ways to live that do not involved killing people just because they think differently or sit on two thirds of the oil supply... wise humans with insight and long term vision would be designing and refining machines that do not require fossil fuels anyway... the neanderthals still believe might makes right and world domination to own and use all the resources we can are on a suicide course, but then, have another drink and forget I said anything... ok, back to life around here means back to work again... weekends are just too dang short... there oughta be a law... so what's new... another day off from the run, letting my legs rest from the push on the recumbent bike yesterday... and I'm starting to feel surges of inspiration pop up near the surface more and more lately, so if I had the time off I would expect some explosive writing sessions (explosive quantity, hopefully an increase in quality as well)... but since work consumes so much awake time, a good week-long writing marathon has not happened in a couple or few years... yes, we all suffer, I'm sure (sarcasm wins again) J but seriously, do you want to kill someone? |
