MUSIC CHARTS
(the music of the moment that matters most to me)
SKIP INTRO

still and always a work in progress (but this page much more than most, as new music comes out all the time and this is a momentary charting of inspirations), I'll stop by here to share the music that is touching and/or inspiring me most at the moment... and at the moment I am just listing only (and all) whole CDs or tapes or whatever that I have here and can listen to whenever I feel like it (so few... whimper)... some are bought, some are found, and some are given to me by other music lovers who understand that I'm starving for music these days... yes, I know about mp3s and someday when I get a grown up computer I hope to download everything still available... I'll update this whenever something new comes into my barren musical landscape (think I hinted enough yet?)... seriously, if music matters to you, call or write and tell me what your favorite music is today or this week or this month or this year or all time (I'd like to know) J

and that is all I've got right now

sad, isn't that

more current than usual... I mean, I seldom follow the pop music charts as I explore music and this chart has more pop music on it than usual... in fact my personal charts are usually full of music that never made any of the pop charts (as Libbo's voices might eventually demonstrate when memories finally start kicking in some more... alas... I alas a lot, huh?... well, I've had a lot to alas about in my lot in life, alas... alas, a lot, alas, a life)...

it's ok, strange looks often follow parentheses (for that matter, strange parentheses often follow strange looks)... anyway... this particular alas is I haven't been exploring music at all (just occasionally listening to passing radios) for the last five years (that takes money or working in a record store and I gave it all away and record stores don't pay enough to make money...

. o O ( hey... ) O o .

and that's not where I've been the last five years) so I am as ignorant about music as I've ever been in this life... in spite of all the irreverence and possible humors in my tone, for me this is a serious bummer...

everything (everything left that wasn't stolen by people I trusted, that is) is in storage... see, if you were here in space with me you see that there are currently a grand total of 28 recordings to choose from today, many I did not buy but rather found or was handed along the way... so it's certainly not a representative sampling of my musical tastes by any means... it's just what I have listened to most recently and ranked by current preference... and the top few (however many will be in the upper bracket of the table) are touching me most or somehow the most influential for the moment... maybe I will get into why down the road... or perhaps in a the journals... more likely in deeper places... maybe I'll start a musical journal if this babbling continues J

  it's starting again (slowly)...

in any case... the ones in top chart section reach deepest, the bottom section is for those recordings that are either too new to chart (cuz I didn't open or listen to them yet or cuz need to listen some more) or they just didn't chart cuz the words and/or music didn't move me enough, at least not yet... that could be cuz I wasn't really listening or cuz the stuff sucks (or just doesn't reach me for whatever)... sucks, of course, is a technical term in the music industry... and in some cases I may have found the tape or CD somewhere and it's scratched or mess up too much for me to actually give it a ranking on the charts... so many variables, so many disclaimers, so filking what J

this could be one way for me to sorta analyze me and life through words and music, but more, cuz it's published here, it's a way to reflect myself a bit for you... and then again, it's all so momentary and subjective it's really arbitrary and just a starting point for further contemplation and sharing...

I want to bring music back to me... so I'd appreciate any recommendations (or copies of anything you wanna share if you have the means for copies... I'll happily provide the blank CDs and pay postage... hey, there's another something for my wantlist... could this be getting organized?) J
