Musical Journeys

words pour from my pores
some are ripped from my heart
some escape from my soul
maybe some are just imagination
maybe some are just fleeting sensation
you can feel what is real
at the level of energy you receive
everything else you may feel
is what you want it to be
providence or fantasy
believe what you will
and it will be

I'm not awake, but I'm not sleeping
I'm holding promises meant for keeping
in that space between sleep and awake
where dreams come true if you want them to
dreams come true if you want them to

I'm not quite dead, but I'm not living
there's so much more inside for giving
in that space between life and death
where dreams come true with ever breath
if you dare to feel every breath

from New York to Toronto
from Seaside to Orlando
from everywhere to here
the first obstacle is fear
in that space between believing
and deceiving
you may not always be aware
of what you are receiving
and expression may only come in ways
that only you can understand
bless the words that can let you share
beyond the reach of your hand

I'm not awake, but I'm not sleeping
I'm holding promises meant for keeping
in that space between sleep and awake
where dreams come true if you want them to
dreams come true if you want them to

from everywhere to here
the first obstacle is fear
in that space between believing
and deceiving
you may not always be aware
of what you are receiving
and expression may only come in ways
that only you can see
and what you dare to believe
is what will be
